NOT THE SHARPEST KNIVES IN THE DRAWER: Running Into Trouble
CT state Rep. Thomas Kehoe (D-Glastonbury), vice chairman of the legislative transportation committee and traffic safety expert, has been charged with reckless use of the highway by a pedestrian after he jogged into a moving pickup truck and broke a rib, reports the Hartford Courant:
[T]he police report states that the northbound Ford F-350 pickup had been stopped at a red light on Main Street, and that a witness said that when the light turned green, the truck started moving and Kehoe bumped into it … Kehoe said that he entered the crosswalk when the light was red to traffic on Main Street, and that the fender and driver-side mirror of the truck hit him and knocked him down.
The driver of the pickup truck was cited for failing to carry a valid insurance card, operating without a license and failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
According to the police, there was ample blame to go around for the mishap.
