WHAT A HEEL: Kanye West’s Racist Outburst At The MTV Awards

Kanye West couldn’t stand it that a white girl from a small town in PA who sings country music won “Best Female Video” at the MTV Video Music Awards, so he strode up on stage, yanked the microphone from Taylor Swift's hand and denigrated her by challenging the legitimacy of her accomplishment: “Beyoncé had "one of the greatest videos of all time." Fair or not, what The Stiletto heard was an unspoken epithet in the air: “Beyoncé had "one of the greatest videos of all time, trailer trash.”

The outburst was, unfortunately, to be expected from the gay fish, whose lover is a cross-dressing pike named Trish (video contains raw language). West, we learned, has a long history of being abusive to white artists, having stormed off the set of the American Music Awards in 2004 after losing the “Best New Artist” award to Gretchen Wilson, and going up on stage to interrupt the acceptance speech of French duo Justice vs. Simian, who had won “Best Video” at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2006. In 1997 after losing to other artists at the MTV VMAs for two years in a row, he whined: "Give a black man a chance. That's two years in a row!"

West clearly did not like being bested by white artists, and even rebuked by the brainy judges presiding over these prestigious music awards.

His shocking disrespect for the MTV VMAs - no other artist ever interrupted a rival's acceptance speech from the stage - convinced The Stiletto: West just can’t believe a white artist should ever win a music award, and will never accept it.

West posted this less-than-heartfelt apology on his blog, in which he again belittled Swift’s success:

I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment. Beyonce's video was the best of this decade … I'm sorry to my fans if I let you guys down … I'm sorry to my friends at MTV … I will apologize to Taylor.

He later did a do-over of his sorry apology with this blog post:

I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave. That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.

And another do-over on “The Jay Leno Show” (“It was just very rude, period.”), and then used his air time to fundraise sell records.

West didn’t have the good manners to call Swift and her mother to apologize to them personally until after the 19-year old appeared on “The View” and admitted that, “I'm not gonna say that I wasn't riled by it. I had to perform live five minutes later so I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform” and said that he had yet to “personally reach out” to her.

Swift accepted the apology, but some are calling for West to be censured by being banned from future awards shows.

Just watching the video I could not see anything racial about it anymore than when Joe Wilson yelled, "You lie".

I was unware of West's past tirades that were racially tinged. Still I don't know what was in his heart when he made an utter fool out of himself.

Playing the race card is the left's tactic. I expected that the race card would be played often after Obama's election. I did not guess it would be this often and as over-the-top by the left.

When Jimmy Carter, an anti-semite and a former supporter of segregation, is now throwing out the race card you know it is getting way out of hand. I don't think is is a good idea to go to their level.
