ON THE CUTTING EDGE: Monster Truck
Over an eight month period, Johnny Bolton built a pickup truck in his spare time with a tape measure, a welding torch and just about any metal he could get his hands on, reports the Hannibal (MO) Courier-Post:
It may not be pretty, but it’s road-safe and Bolton can get around without having to worry about making a car payment every month. …
He used just about anything he could find from his family, friends and the junkyard, and even had to forge some of the pieces himself.
Bolton’s ingenuity led him to craft an air cleaner from a bedpan, and to use old license plates for the floorboard. He calls his one-of-a-kind creation, the "Mississippi River Rat."
