WHAT A HEEL: Disappearing DVDs
Myles Weathers, 49, an employee at a mail processing and distribution center in Springfield, MA, pleaded guilty to felony theft charges for stealing 3,012 DVDs mailed by Netflix to its members, reports The Smoking Gun. Weathers was caught on surveillance video taking DVDs out of the Netflix envelopes and putting them in his backpack. The total value of the stolen DVDs came to $36,471. Under federal sentencing guidelines Weathers faces a year in prison and will be required to return the DVDs to Netflix or pay restitution.
