WHAT HEELS: Wedding Day Blues
Casey D. Cockerham, 27, and his girlfriend, Michelle Nichalson, 24, were arrested on Class D felony theft charges for crashing Aaron “Bo” and Margaret Thompson Brown’s wedding reception at the American Legion hall and stealing a bird cage stuffed with congratulatory cards that contained $5,000 in cash, checks and gift cards, reports The Tribune (Seymour, IN).
Police Chief Bill Abbott told the paper that, “To our knowledge, the suspects did not know the bride or groom. They were driving by and saw the reception going on and decided to take advantage of the situation.” Although the money was not recovered, none of the checks had been cashed and the gift cards were voided.
