NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: The Smoking Muzzleloader
Robert Lapointe, 63, shot himself in the right hand on the first day of muzzleloader deer season in Ossipee, NH, while trying to hoist his loaded .50-caliber rifle into a tree stand using a rope tied around the weapon, reports The Associated Press. A branch or stick likely got stuck in the trigger, setting the weapon off, prompting a state Fish and Game Department spokesperson to observe that Lapointe "shouldn't have been doing what he did." Duh.
