NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Who Needs Fingerprints When You’ve Got Footprints?: Part II
Altoona, PA, police responding to a burglar alarm at Vic's Mini Store found that someone had thrown a brick through the front window. They found that someone – allegedly, Joshua Charles Phillips, 28, of Tennessee Ridge, TN - at the home of relatives a couple of blocks over by following his footprints in the snow, reports The Altoona Mirror:
Phillips was wearing wet sneakers and had two pairs of wet pants with him in the attic, but Phillips told officers he had been home asleep all night, police said.
A wet brick - the same type as thrown through the store's window - was on the kitchen counter, and police said his sneakers matched the sole patterns left in the snow.
Police said Phillips' cousin admitted that Phillips had asked him to help break in to the store by acting as a lookout.
Phillips was charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief. He was not able to post the $30,000 and is custody at Blair County Prison.
