WHAT A HEEL: Man Uses Baby As Human Shield Against Taser
According to a report by sheriff's deputies at the scene of a street corner dispute involving several people, Jorge Garcia, 39, cursed at them and did not obey orders to get in his car and leave. After the deputies told Garcia he was under arrest he got in his car and refused to come out. At this point, the deputies trained their Tasers on him, reports the Daytona Beach News-Journal, but were unable to shoot:
Garcia grabbed an infant sitting next to him and held the child in front of his body telling deputies numerous times, "Tase the baby," the report said.
Deputies managed to get the child unharmed from Garcia and two deputies then used their Tasers on him, the report said. …
Garcia was charged with child neglect without great harm and resisting an officer without violence, and is free on $6,500 bail. His wife, Tangeca, 35, was also arrested on two counts of resisting an officer without violence because she tried to prevent deputies from using their stun guns on her husband. She was released from county jail after posting $500 bail.
