NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: U.S. Citizen Tries To Get Deported To Beat Felony Rap

When Adolfo Aparicio, 29, of Garden Grove, CA, was approached by Border Patrol agent David Jimarez in the Ajo Station in the Tucson, AZ, sector he gave a false name and claimed to be in the country illegally. A fingerprint check revealed Aparicio's true identity, as well as a felony warrant for his arrest, reports The Orange County Register:

[He was] possibly hoping to be deported, instead of having to face charges for the attempted homicide of his wife in October in Santa Ana. …

He will be extradited from Arizona to face charges in California. …

Jimarez said agents have seen an increase in people with criminal backgrounds claiming to be in the country illegally so to avoid charges in the U.S.
