THE DAILY BLADE: The Joke’s On Us
In a commentary for Online Metrics Insider about charging for online content vs. selling advertising based on traffic generated by free content, comScore, Inc. chief research officer Josh Chasin starts off with a joke he heard in grade school to make his point:
Two brothers in
What makes this joke funny, of course, is that the second brother's conclusion is absurd. Obviously, no matter how big the truck gets, you don't make any money selling inventory for cost.
Now, suppose I change the punch line, thusly: "See? I told you we should give the watermelons away for free and just sell advertising on the truck."
The joke also works to show the absurdity of pumping more taxpayer (or Chinese) money into President Barack Hussein Obama’s problematic or failed domestic programs:
One brother says to the other, “This will be a jobless recovery.” The other brother says, “See? I told you we need a bigger “stimulus” package.
One brother says to the other, “People are still losing their homes to foreclosure.” The other brother says, “See? I told you we need a bigger mortgage relief program.
