NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Puppet Cleavage Smutty: Colorado Springs Prude

Avenue Q,” is scheduled for two-day run at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs, CO, in mid-March. But don’t go looking for ads for the Tony award-winning off-Broadway musical on the city’s bus shelters. It seems Lamar Advertising account executive Jeff Moore rejected bus shelter ads for the show, objecting to puppet character Lucy the Slut’s “furry pink cleavage,” reports The Gazette Colorado Springs:

[Moore] said he has a simple test to see what’s appropriate for bus ads and billboards: “If I have to explain it to my 4-year-old or my grandmother, we don’t put it up.”

Was it the fact that it was cleavage or the fact that it was puppet cleavage that swayed Moore?

“It’s the fact that it’s cleavage,” he said.

So, is The Stiletto to understand that Moore has to explain cleavage made of foam - or flesh - to his grandmother? Maybe she should explain it to him.

Moore goes on to say that the puppet's cleavage may be suitable for other locales, adding: “I just know in this market, we prefer to walk a little more conservatively.” In that case, someone better warn Moore and the good citizens of Colorado Springs that they will see Lucy’s naked puppet breasts in the show – oh, and puppet sex.
