WHAT A HEEL: Reading, Writing & Rip-Roaring Wasted

Toro Canyon Middle School Tonya Neff, 47, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of prescription drugs and alcohol during class, reports The Desert Sun (Palm Springs, CA):

 

[S]he had taken prescription drugs and alcohol and a container with an alcoholic beverage inside was found, according to the [Riverside County] sheriff's department. …

 

Neff was arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment and was transported to the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

 

Coachella Valley Unified School District Superintendent Ricardo Medina said that Neff will be placed on leave pending the outcome an investigation into the incident, but has not determined she will be paid during that period.
