NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: CT Man Didn’t Need A GPS – He Already Knows How To Get To Jail
During a recess in proceedings at Rockville (CT) Superior Court on a larceny charge involving a GPS unit he (allegedly) stole and unwittingly attempted to sell back to its owner, Thomas Peno, 51, bought and downed a bottle of vodka and then broke into cars parked in front of the courthouse, reports The Hartford Courant:
When Peno returned to court, judicial marshals took him into custody for being drunk and disorderly, police said. They then realized he matched the description of the man who was seen breaking into cars.
About the same time, one of the car burglary victims walked into the courthouse and said someone broke into his car. At that point, Peno made a dash for the front door and knocked down several people, police said.
Marshals held Peno until the police arrived to take him into custody for burglary, larceny and breach of peace – it was his 40th arrest.
