NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street?
Greyhound bus driver Duane Snipes, 29, of The Bronx, (allegedly) took one of his employer’s new $600,000 coaches from the Port Authority Bus Terminal on a joy ride to visit his honey in Mount Vernon, reports The New York Post:
Snipes was spotted on video disabling the vehicle's security system and stealing it from a gate at the terminal last Wednesday, a Manhattan criminal court complaint says.
He abandoned the bus later that day in Mount Vernon, sparking a terror scare among local police who rolled out their Emergency Service Unit, according to law-enforcement sources. …
PA police tracked down the bus that day using the vehicle's GPS system. Snipes was arrested the next day.
Snipes, who has been fired, pleaded not guilty to grand larceny, and is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail. Meanwhile, his mother, who lives in Mount Vernon, denies her son was in town to visit a lady friend, pointing out that he has a serious sweetie in NC and a 9-year-old daughter by a third woman in The Bronx.
