WHAT A HEEL: Iron My Shirt
Remember when two Boston morning radio hosts re-enacted the "Iron my shirt" joke during a speech then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton gave in NH in 2008? Well, joke imitates prank imitates life, with 29-year-old Robert Edward Tyrrell Jr. demanding that his 51-year-old mother, Billie Jo Tyrrell, iron his clothes, because “ironing is woman's work,” reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
"He wanted her to do some ironing, and when she said ‘no,' they got into an argument," [Sgt. Marc Griffith with the Carroll County (GA) Sheriff's Office] said. …
Tyrrell, who lives with his parents, then pulled out a gun and took his 51-year-old mother's keys and cellphones, Griffith said. The man refused to let the woman leave for at least six hours, investigators said.
Tyrrell’s mother escaped using a spare key and went to a police station to report the incident.
Tyrrell has been charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment. He remains in custody without bond.
Should he be convicted, The Stiletto suggests that he get assigned to the prison laundry for the duration of his sentence.
