NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: “Chute!,” Said The Burglar Who Got Stuck In The Chimney
On February 19th, Shon Shanell got himself stuck inside the chimney a home he intended to rob. When the police extricated him some six hours later, they nicknamed him the "Santa Claus burglar." A jury gave Shanell the gift of a guilty verdict, reports The Seattle Times:
Shanell has a criminal history that includes convictions for possession of a stolen vehicle and drug violations, according to charging documents. The documents say he had been released from jail on an unrelated possession of a stolen vehicle charge on Dec. 25.
Shanell will be sentenced to less than two years on this conviction. Based on his inability to stay on the right side of the law, finding Shanell guilty of something or another is going to be the gift that King County juries will keep on giving.
