THE DAILY BLADE: Greg Gutfeld Gets In On The Ground Floor Of A Great Business Opportunity At Ground Zero

Red Eye” host Greg Gutfeld wants to build a gay bar specifically catering to Muslim homosexuals right next door to the Ground Zero mosque (AKA Cordoba House and Park51):

So, the Muslim investors championing the construction of the new mosque near Ground Zero claim it's all about strengthening the relationship between the Muslim and non-Muslim world.

As an American, I believe they have every right to build the mosque - after all, if they buy the land and they follow the law - who can stop them?

Which is, why, in the spirit of outreach, I've decided to do the same thing. …

As you know, the Muslim faith doesn't look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I'm building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.

In a nod towards Sharia-compliance, Gutfeld will serve only non-alcoholic drinks.

Gutfeld insists that “this is not a joke” and that he is already talking to investors. He asks interested parties to contact him at dailygut.com.

Given the pent-up demand amongst Muslim homosexuals for a place uniquely their own to mix and mingle, and the guaranteed publicity the launch would generate, The Stiletto thinks this is a great investment opportunity - and she is hoping that the venture capitalists who back Gutfeld’s project will also support her plans to open a dog kennel on the other side of the mosque. The facility, tentatively named "Barka," will make an extra effort to cater to the needs of gay dogs (studded collars, leather leashes), but will not serve dog food with bacon in it.

Greg – have your people contact The Stiletto’s people or drop her a line at thestiletto@thestiletto.info. The Stiletto is as serious about her business venture as you are about yours – especially as her 401K is not nearly fat enough to allow her to continue to buy shoes after retirement at the rate and number to which she has become accustomed.

Rangel’s Rambling Rant

Beleaguered Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) took to the floor of the House of Representatives to tell his colleagues in a half-hour long "point of personal privilege" speech (
video) that they’re going to drag him from the chamber kicking and screaming ("I am not going away. I am here."), and dared them to “fire your best shot at getting rid of me through expulsion."

Rangel minimized and dismissed the 13 counts of alleged ethics personal finance and fundraising violations: “I plead guilty of not being sensitive” (using a rent-controlled apartment as a campaign office); “grabbing the wrong stationary” (using Congressional stationery for raising money for a wing at City College of New York to be named after himself); and “stupid” and “negligent” but “not corrupt.” Also, several times he expressed a desire not to “offend” the Ethics Committee but accused the body of deliberately protracting the hearings to leave him “swinging in the wind till November”; of being able to do “whatever they want”; and of partisanship.

TheStilettoBlog Romer leaving Obama admin. She was forced to defend policies she disagreed with as an academic. To thine own self be true. #tcot #gop

Embattled Obama administration chief economist Christina Romer is leaving the White House to go back to Berkeley. Ms. Romer came to Washington with impeccable academic credentials but had the unenviable task of having to cheerlead for the Obama stimulus plan as month after month of disappointing job numbers came in. The story is an old one: Respected economist comes to Washington and squanders professional credibility by making political statements disguised as economic ones.
