GOODY TWO SHOES: “Both Sides” Of The Story
The Associated Press reports that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech to the United Nations “provoked yet another controversy” because having previously “cast doubt over the U.S. version of the Sept. 11, 2001” he “called for setting up an independent fact-finding U.N. team to probe the attacks” [emphasis, The Stiletto].
Note the choice of words: controversy, which suggests a matter of debate; cast doubt, which suggests that Ahmadinejad’s delusional view of the historical record could be true; and an “independent” investigation is necessary because the victim’s version of events is not believeable.
This seems so … familiar. Oh … wait. This is exactly how Turkey and its apologists in Congress (video), as well as the MSM treat the Armenian Genocide. To cite some examples: “Armenians say that 1.5 million Armenians were killed by Ottoman Turks around the time of World War I”; “Armenia and Turkey do not have diplomatic relations because of the dispute over the killings of Armenians during World War I, which Armenians claim was genocide”; “Turkish officials and some historians say the deaths were caused by forced relocations and fighting at the demise of the 600-year-old Ottoman Empire, rather than by a campaign of genocide”).
