THE DAILY BLADE: WikiLeaks To Reveal Secret Swiss Banking Data

Rudolf Elmer, an ex-employee of the Cayman Island subsidiary of Swiss bank Julius Baer AG, handed two disks containing data on 2,000 American, European and Asian offshore client accounts to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Elmer claims the data includes evidence of tax evasion and other crimes by 40 prominent politicians, as well as business leaders, celebrities, and organized crime bosses reports ABC News:

Elmer said that he had tried to hand the data over to tax authorities and members of the media.

"WikiLeaks is my only hope to get society to know what's going on," Elmer said. …

Elmer said he would not immediately release the names of any individuals or institutions, in part to ensure the names on the accounts are real, and not aliases for individuals or companies involved. …

[Julian] Assange added that it will take several weeks for WikiLeaks to vet the documents.

"We haven't seen the material," Assange said.

"We will treat this information like all other information we get," Assange said. "There will be a full revelation."

For its part Julius Baer described its former employee as "evidently disgruntled and frustrated about unfulfilled career aspirations."

Wonder if any of the Hollywood stars or other rich Dems continually braying about wanting to pay higher taxes is on this list.

If This Is Just A Dream, The Stiletto Does Not Want To Wake Up: Part IV

Starbucks is introducing a new supersized cup for iced coffee, iced tea and lemonade beverages: the Trenta, which holds 31 ounces. That’s 7 ounces larger than the Venti cup. The new cup size will be introduced on January 18th in AZ, TX, FL and other 14 other states where, presumably, the weather gets warm enough for a tall, cool drink sooner than May 3rd, which is how long most of us will have to wait.

ABC News reports that, “[T]he company was quick to point out that unsweetened versions of their drinks will still have fewer than 90 calories, with sweetened versions under 230 calories.” Your wallet, though, will be lighter by an extra 50.
