NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: OK Chainsaw Shoplifter
Anthony Darren Black was arrested on charges of one felony charge of knowingly concealing stolen property and three misdemeanor charges of assault and battery, larceny of merchandise from a retailer and public intoxication, for attempting to steal a chainsaw from Ross Seed Company in Chickasha (OK) by stuffing it into the front of his shorts, reports KFOR-TV (Channel 4, Oklahoma City).
Several employees gave chase and when one of them caught up to Black, the 21-year old punched him and kept running. At some point during the chase – which ended up with police having to fish him out of a creek he had dived into in an effort to evade his pursuers – Black ditched the chainsaw.
If convicted of the felony charge, Black could be sentenced to between one and five years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $500.
