ON THE CUTTING EDGE: Fasten Your Seat Belts, It’s Going To Be A Campy Flight

One of The Stiletto’s pet peeves used to be flight attendants reciting pre-flight safety information to passengers in a sing-song voice, slurring one word into the next without pausing for a breath until the whole thing became a miasma of unintelligible sound, especially to passengers who did not speak or understand English well. Airlines are increasingly switching to videos - some with subtitles, attitude  or humor - to impart this important information. Air New Zealand’s new safety video featuring bubbly weight loss personality Richard Simmons in a Sweatin' to the Oldies routine is going to make you want to reach for a parachute before the Deal-A-Meal in-flight food and beverage service begins:
