WHAT A HEEL: Barefoot Contessa Snubs Cancer-Stricken Boy

"Barefoot Contessa" Ina Garten gave a boy stricken with acute lymphoblastic leukemia a flat-footed refusal (she said she was “too busy”) when he told the Make-A-Wish Foundation that he wanted to meet and cook a dish with the Food Network celebrity, reports Los Angeles Times blog Daily Dish:

The boy, who would watch Garten from his sick bed. When told that her schedule was too busy, Enzo opted to wait. When the request was made once more, Garten's representatives replied with a "definite no," according to the online blog that the family kept about the boy's illness. …

[T]wo other Food Network celebrity chefs - Iron Chef Michael Symon and Beau MacMillan - have reportedly offered to cook with Enzo.

Having given up on his dream of meeting Garten, Enzo has now set his sights on swimming with dolphins as his dying wish. As far as we know, the word “no” is not in a dolphin’s vocabulary.
