NOT THE SHARPEST KNIVES IN THE DRAWER: News From Stardate 48315.6

Berlin-based TV news channel N24, which entered into a partnership with CNBC Europe to use the financial network’s business content and proprietary graphics in 2003, accidentally (The Stiletto hopes) put up what it thought was the Navy SEAL insignia during a report on the raid in which Usama bin Laden was assassinated. So their faces must have been “rot” when they found out that they instead used a fictitious logo for a fictitious group of commandos. GeekOSystem reports:

[T]he channel accidentally used a fan-made logo for the Maquis, an anti-Cardassian rebel group which originally appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, in place of the SEAL Team Six emblem.

Referring to the Maquis logo, N24 anchor Mick Locher commented: “They don’t have the skull in their emblem for nothing.” Never mind that it is a Klingon skull. Or that the flintlock style pistol is replaced by a phaser.
