NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Criminals Always Return To The Scene Of The Crime
Alerted by their barking dog, Seattle homeowners called 9-1-1 as a man was climbing through the bathroom window. When they screamed, he dropped his eyeglasses on the floor and fled the home, KCPQ-TV (Channel 13, Seattle) reports:
As officers were en route … the suspect returned to the home, rang the front doorbell and demanded that the residents return his eyeglasses. The residents refused and the suspect walked away.
When officers arrived … [o]ne officer spotted the suspect at an intersection near the home. The suspect attempted to hide from police and he was detained. The residents arrived on the scene and identified the suspect as the man they saw attempting to enter their home.
The 36-year-old man was then arrested and booked in to King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary.
The man did not get his eyeglasses back and the glasses were placed in to evidence with a request for fingerprint analysis.
