NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: Fugitive Motel Motormouth Fingered

While staying at the Traveler's Motel in Delmar, MD, Richard R. Vermalyea talked so loudly during a telephone conversation that other guests in adjacent rooms were able to hear everything he said quite clearly. Apart from the noise, they overheard the man say there was an open warrant for his arrest and called the police, WBOC-TV (Channel 16, Salisbury, MD)  reports:

It was discovered that Vermalyea was wanted in Cecil County, Md. on two open warrants. One of the warrants was for failure to appear in a felony theft case and the other was for a violation of probation in a felony theft case.

Vermalyea was taken into custody and ordered held on $10,000 bond each on the two warrants, pending transfer to Cecil County.
