WHAT A HEEL: Woman Confuses “Hertz” With “Hearse”
Angela DeHart had gone out with her girlfriend to celebrate her birthday, but the couple got into a fight on the way home, and she got out of the car and began to walk. DeHart must have either been dead tired or dead drunk because instead of renting a car or calling a cab to get home, she stole a hearse.
As she walked past the Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Home in Beckley, WV, DeHart spotted a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood hearse idling outside, and hopped into the driver’s seat and peeled out of the parking lot. The hearse – and the body of an 85-year-old woman which had been laying on a gurney in the vehicle – was eventually found near the loopy lesbian’s home in Beaver County (um, you read that right).
DeHart has been charged with the felonies grand larceny and displacement of a dead body, and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail, The Smoking Gun reports.
