Rapper reneges on $1M reward for lost laptop
WHAT A HEEL: Rapper Ryan Leslie's laptop contained all the material for his new album, “Less Is More,” and other creative projects, and after it went missing while he was on tour in Germany in October 2010 he offered a $1 million reward for the return of the MacBook and his intellectual property – even putting up a You Tube video on his Facebook page to publicize the bounty.
About a month later, 52-year old German man, Armin Augstein found the laptop while walking his dog in the park and tried to collect the reward – repeatedly – but kept getting rebuffed by the rapper. So now, Augstein is suing Leslie for the $1 million that, for some crazy reason, he thinks he is owed. Something about an oral contract or keeping your word. Leslie apparently thinks the idea of a man honoring a promise is whack.
