James Lipton can’t imagine the real Obama cursing like Clint Eastwood’s imaginary Obama did
NOT THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER: In an interview with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner, James Lipton, host of Inside The Actor’s Studio, gave Clint Eastwood’s RNC speech a thumbs down, calling it “not his best performance.”
Lipton, whose standard list of interview questions for actors who appear on his show includes “What is your favorite curse word?,” also objected to Eastwood’s having his imaginary President Obama tell Romney and him to do something both vulgar and physically impossible: “In my opinion, Obama is incapable of saying ‘shut up’ and ‘go blank yourself,’ and is capable, in fact, of uttering much more eloquent and proper replies.”
Oh, really? Here are several documented cases of Obama uttering - and being completely unfazed by hearing - barnyard epithets in public:
† July 2012: After a string of fundraising letters sent out by the Obama re-election campaign using the mild profanities "damn" and "hell" - undoubtedly with the candidate’s approval - the campaign is now selling a T-shirt with the motto, “Health Reform Still a BFD," which are the immortal words that VP Joe Biden whispered in his ear just before the president signed the Dem healthcare bill into law. And no one can forget a T-shirt worn by Obama supporters in 2008 that called Vice Presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Pail in c*nt - which neither the candidate, nor anyone associated with his campaign, ever repudiated.
† May 2012: Right after Obama delivered the Commencement Address at Barnard College in NYC, Huffington Post editor Ethan Klapper
† March 2012: At a fundraiser in Atlanta, Cee Lo Green serenaded Democrat donors with his "f*ck you" song. Neither Obama, nor anyone on his staff, rebuked Green.
† June 8, 2010: Obama told The Today Show’s Matt Lauer that he was talking to experts about the BP oil spill "so I know whose ass to kick."
† February 15, 2011: During a press conference about his 2012 budget, instead of saying "share of the economy" Obama has a slip of says "sh*t" but quickly corrects himself.
† February 2009: In the audio version of his "autobiography" Dreams From My Father, Obama acts out a conversation with his high school friend, Ray, who cursed a blue streak and quite fluently utters all the words that Lipton doesn't think he is capable of (sh*t, motherf*ckers, n*gger).
And in private, Obama reportedly uses language that would make the hairs in Lipton's trademark goatee kink up.
